Czym jest wskaźnik TOG? Wyjaśnienie systemu TOG
The TOG rating indicates how warm a sleeping bag is – the higher the rating, the warmer it is. Choose the appropriate rating based on the room temperature:
- 0.5 TOG – from approx. 24 °C (warm nights)
- 1.0 TOG – 18–24 °C (mild nights)
- 2.5 TOG – 15–21 °C (suitable all year round)
- 3.5 TOG – below approx. 15 °C (cold nights)
At 18–21 °C, both 1.0 and 2.5 TOG are suitable – depending on the clothing worn underneath.

What does the TOG rating of a sleeping bag mean?
The TOG rating is a measure of thermal insulation: the higher the rating, the warmer the sleeping bag will keep your baby.
Which TOG rating is suitable all year round?
For most households, 2.5 TOG is the ideal all-year-round rating (approx. 15–21°C). For warm summer nights, a 0.5 TOG sleeping bag is also recommended.
What temperature is a 2.5 tog sleeping bag in NHS?
The NHS recommends a 2.5 TOG baby sleeping bag for standard room temperatures of 16–20°C. It describes 2.5 TOG as suitable for use throughout the year. The right TOG should always be chosen according to the room temperature, with your baby’s clothing underneath adjusted as needed.
Is 2.5 tog too warm for 21 degrees?
At 21 °C, 2.5 TOG is at the upper end of Slumbersac's suggested 15-21 °C range. A 1.0 TOG option also covers room temperatures up to 24 °C, so the choice should take the actual room temperature, sleepwear and product guidance into account.
Is a 2.5 tog baby sleeping bag for winter?
Yes, 2.5 TOG is commonly used in winter because it suits cooler rooms of around 15-21 °C. If the room is colder than about 15 °C, 3.5 TOG may be a better match; if warmer, a lower TOG may be more suitable.
How can I tell if my baby is too warm or too cold?
Feel the back of your baby’s neck. If it feels comfortably warm and dry, the temperature is likely to be right. If your baby is sweating, the TOG rating may be too high; if the back of their neck feels cool, choose a warmer sleeping bag.
